On the soapbox
The current state of turmoil in this country is the direct result politicians who place their own personal interests ahead of those they were elected to represent. Where the indifference of the citizen allows laws to be broken and go unpunished, special interests to be served without question, and accountability is nothing more than a word that the vast majority of Americans can't even spell, little on grasp its meaning. We live in a country where the almighty dollar is not so mighty anymore. What looks to be a doomsday forecast for a once powerful and benevolent nation has given way to corporate greed. The two party system has birthed a bastard child in the form of the tea party, where even the most public proponents of this new party are already exploiting its existence, using fear and ignorance as the fuel to move the political machine in the direction that the party has deemed correct. On the other side of the aisle are a bunch of bleeding hearts too afraid to be viewed as extreme, too proud to concede; effectively creating a stalemate. The situation is dire and no average American could be bothered. The opinions of the elected few have polarized the masses into a bloody knockdown grudge match between a fat, red elephant and a blue jackass.
The ebb and flow of things to come...
