Devastation in Japan

I know that this has been covered immensely on every single news outlet in the world, but it's worth taking notice of. In case you spent your weekend in a reality depravation chamber, you undoubtedly have heard of the 8.9 earthquake that took place and caused a tsunami to sweep over northern Japan. Northern Japan is thankfully the most rural area of the small island nation, but that doesn't mean by any definition that this staggering tragedy is any less devastating. The death toll is rising by the second and as rescue efforts continue, there are still people alive waiting to be rescued. This is a terrible event and I encourage anyone who can to do anything in their power to help the ongoing relief efforts to do so. American Red Cross has set up a donation program via text message service. Japan is a beautiful country with a beautiful history. Now with the threat of multiple nuclear reactors possibly going critical (not so much a Chernobyl, but more like 3 Mile Island) there is still much to be dealt with.
